Plato: Founder of Western Philosophy

A Roman copy of an original bust of Plato, found on wikipedia.

Plato a philospher born 423 BC in Athens produced some of the most impactful writings in the western world. It is interesting to note the earliest manuscripts of his writing are from 1100 AD which are more than 1,000 years after his death. It is impossible to say just how much of what we attribute to Plato was in fact orignal.
